The Gorge

The Gorge is considered one of the most beautiful and secluded swimming holes in the Scenic Rim. Located on private property within a camping hideaway, it features a tranquil, 200-meter long swimming hole fed by Reynolds Creek. The water depth averages around 1.5 metres, with a deeper pool further upstream. The surrounding area is shady and lush, creating a refreshing retreat on a hot day. To access The Gorge, a small donation is requested by the owners of the property, and it’s a good idea to call ahead to confirm opening hours and any specific rules they may have for visitors.

Cedar Creek Falls, Mt Tamborine

Christmas Creek Falls (Larapinta Falls)

This waterfall offers a refreshing escape amidst the lush rainforest. The walk itself is fairly easy, starting from the designated car park on Christmas Creek Road. While the distance is short, the path can get a bit rocky and uneven in some sections, so proper footwear is recommended. After a leisurely walk along the creek, you'll be greeted by the cascading waters of Christmas Creek Falls. The surrounding rainforest provides a cool, green canopy, perfect for escaping the summer heat. At the base of the falls, you'll find several clear pools ideal for taking a dip on a hot day.

Waterfall Creek

Lake Moogerah

The lake itself is a picture of tranquillity with clear blue waters surrounded by lush mountains. The lake is an ideal spot for boating, water skiing, and jet skiing. A fishing permit is required, but the lake is stocked with a variety of fish including Australian bass, golden perch, silver perch, Mary River cod, and Saratoga. There are also several boat ramps around the lake for easy access. Whether you're looking for a place to relax by the water or explore the surrounding area, Lake Moogerah is a perfect choice.
